Detailed Installation for Macintosh
1 - Copy the plugin to the MediaCore
Directory
Firstly open the MBR Color Corrector 3 zip file in Finder. If you have just downloaded it, then double clicking in the downloads section of Safari will bring up the correct window:
Open a second Finder window, and point it at /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/
.
This is easily done by selecting two menu options in Finder:
And then entering /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/
into the box and clicking OK.
When this is done, the new finder window should look something like this:
Next, copy the MBR Color Corrector 3.plugin
file from the original Finder window into the second Finder Window:
2 - Extra step for MacOS Catalina / Big Sur users
Apple have started requiring developer signatures in MacOS Catalina and Big Sur. This shows up as a warning box stating that plugin
- "can't be opened because its integrity cannot be verified." (Catalina)/li>
- "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." (Big Sur)
The workaround for this problem is to remove the quarantine flag as follows:
- Open
Terminal
(for example, by opening Launch Pad and searching for Terminal) - Enter the command
cd "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/"
and press Enter - Enter the command
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "MBR Color Corrector 3.plugin"
and press Enter - Terminal will now ask for a password, the password you should use is the one
for your user account for your Mac. (Because the command is editing a file in
/Library/...
Terminal needs to ask permission in the same way that Finder did when you copied the plugin a few moments ago).
After completeing the steps above, the terminal window should look something like:
3 - Load Premiere Pro / After Effects
When you start Premiere Pro or After Effects, the plugin will appear in the Effects list in the Color Correction section.
If the plugin doesn't appear in the Effects list, close Premiere Pro and
restart it while holding the shift
key. (Premiere Pro has a plugin
cache that can get confused, but holding down shift
Premiere Pro
will rescan all the plugins and update the cache).
Once you have verified that "MBR Color Corrector III" can be applied to a clip: you can be sure that these steps are complete (and therefore you don't need clear the cache again).
If you re-install the plugin for any reason, such as a upgrading to a newer version, you will have to repeat the steps on this page.
